AV/Video Programmer
Status: Full-Time l Location: Nashville, TN
Position Overview:
The AV/Video Programmer is responsible for providing field service and support for our Commercial AV division. Candidates should be technically adept and dependable self-starters, with experience in all facets of AV systems design and deployment, and specialized equipment programming, including Crestron, Extron and AMX systems. Top candidates will also bring an exceptional customer-first attitude to every aspect of his/her work.
Primary Essential Job Duties:
- Program and configure AV equipment and control systems
- (AMX/Crestron/Extron) DSPs, matrix mixers and switchers; videoconferencing codecs and endpoints (Cisco/Polycom)
- Write code for AV systems and equipment
- Create and develop graphical interfaces for touch panels
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and commission control programming and audio, video and switching equipment
- Configure IP addressable devices, possess basic understanding of data network devices/networking
- Coordinate with engineering department on design and drafting revisions
- Interact with customers and IT/AV personnel in customer service oriented, professional manner
- Ability to understand and follow base building and electrical blueprints
- Adhere to AVIXA APEx standards and local codes
- Report any project changes, issues, or concerns to assigned contacts
- Regular and predictable attendance as scheduled
- Work cooperatively with others.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Solid communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, determination, and discipline to manage projects, personnel and effectively handle stressful situations, should they arise
- Work hours and schedule may vary according to the needs of our customers
- Regular regional travel is required
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 1 to 3 years engineering or technical service experience with specific knowledge programming AV/video control systems and IP devices
- Avixa CTS-D or CTS-I strongly desired
- Manufacturer certifications strongly desired, especially AMX, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC
- Experience with device control protocols (RS232, IP, IR, relays and logic I/Os) as plus
- Low-voltage systems and networking familiarity a plus
- Valid driver’s license with appropriate driving record
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to work on a computer for long periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to pass drug screen and background check
