Employees Enjoy Thrilling M3 Kart Day
When M3 Technology Group was named to the list of Nashville Business Journal’s 2014 Best Places to Work, things like leadership, benefits, and work engagement were all important criteria in coming up on the list. However, teamwork and camaraderie are also a very important part of what makes M3 a great place to work, and both of those things were on full display at M3’s Kart Day 2014, held last Friday, March 28 at Music City Indoor Karting.
According to M3 CIO Chris Montini, the event was planned as a chance to build the type of team spirit recognized by the Nashville Business Journal, while also recognizing all the hard work that employees have done recently.
Each employee was able to participate in three eight-minute races on the kart track, with trophies awarded for first, second, and third place. In the first heat, Kyle Jackman blew by the competition to take the prize. When round two came, contestants were a bit more savvy to the track, and Rusty Howell’s quick maneuvers brought him the win. Pulling up the rear
to claim the final race was CEO Jason Taylor, who scored a solid win ahead of the pack.
We even captured a little footage of Team M3 wizzing around the track. Check it out:
“We all know that M3 is a great place to work, but a lot of what makes it so great are the people who work here,” said Montini. “Everybody supports each other, and works hard to help us become one of the leading companies in the industry. This is our way of saying that all the hard work has not gone unnoticed.”In addition, the event also featured catering from Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream. Employees were invited to select their favorite flavors, with Milk & Cookies, Butter Pecan, and Chunky Monkey being among the winners.
According to Montini, Kart Day was a great success, no matter what the results on the track might have shown. “This event just goes to show that even though we found out some of our employees are a lot slower than others, that doesn’t mean we don’t all play an important role in making M3 great — off the track.” 😉
